For those of you who live outside America, the Republican Party is a far right wing coalition of Jump-4-Jesus evangelicals, Yosemite Sam gun nuts, fringe anti-government anarchists, rich greedy multimillionaires and war mongering radicals who like to see us invade the Canadian province of Nova Scotia.

Of course, in spite of this, we respect their members who serve in public office and the long hours they put in up in Washington, DC, and on the golf courses they play on for fundraisers.

Presidential Quotes, (7 of 8): Gerald Ford

Greetings to our blog readers in Austria, Finland and Uruguay, where Jose Mujica is president and apparently he is also the poorest president in the world (ok, we asked Google who the president of Uruguay was).

Since these quips from the first and last eight presidents seem to be as popular as late-night vacuum infomercials, we thought we'd arbitrarily throw in a few names to boost our hits: Kate Middleton, Paris Hilton and Edward Snowden*: We don't actually give a fig about any of these people.

Coming Attractions: Here is What Might be Coming Next Here

Here are three blog entries I will be trying to get in, though like everyone else I've my fair share of unexpected surprises lately, and of course, most of those have been pies in the proverbial face ala the late Soupy Sales:

1. This week, we had a chance to watch Keith Olbermann's new version of "Countdown" on Current TV. Interestingly enough, Al Gore, who is the CEO of the relatively new network, was the featured guest that night.

2. As always, I will be disclosing the last ten films I've seen. One slight dilemma is: should I count the two-part film biopic of Che Guevara simply entitled "Che" (both films combined last four and a half hours) as two films or one. The Internet Movie Database actually counts them as two. Though Part One, was filmed mostly in Puerto Rico as opposed to Cuba, Part Two was filmed on location in Bolivia.

3. Here in North Carolina, there is the phrase "serving everyone from Murphy to Manteo," these two zip codes are actually the most outer points of the state as Murphy, which is the western mountains, actually borders Georgia. And, Manteo is located in the Outer Banks. Andy Griffith reportedly lives there. Next week, we hope to see just how far apart Murphy and Manteo really are.

_If you want to go to the movies and you live in the Tarheel State, the Graham Cinema in Graham (next to Burlington, and relatively close to Chapel Hill and Greensboro) is now showing "Pirates of the Caribbean 4" and "The Hangover 2."

But, the kicker is the cinema's telephone line which features politically incorrect jokes from Tim Bob. This week, Tim Bob has some sultry tales and jokes about life on the golf course. To hear it for yourself, dial 336-226-1488. The line is often busy.

Silly Picture to Fill Space- Caddyshack

We continue our look at summer jobs in our Silly Pictures to Fill Space series (which usually runs on Tuesdays) with an homage to the 1980 film "Caddyshack," which somehow lost the Best Picture Oscar to "Raging Bull" (correction: "Ordinary People," I always forget that even though 'Bull' is the better movie that it lost to the Robert Redford-directed film. 'Course, we know 'Caddyshack' wasn't actually nominated).

If one wants to become a caddy in the Winston-Salem, NC-area and perhaps meet the real-life equivalents of Chevy Chase, Ted Knight and Rodney Dangerfield, one can apply at The Old Homeplace Golf Club on Wallbug Road, Jimmy Mac's Golf Range on Clemmonsville Road or The Meadowlands Golf Club at Meadowlands Drive.

Of course, we're not sure that any of these places (which really do exist) are hiring as we don't have time to survey job postings on Craigslist.

But, we can tell you that Krispy Kreme Town's local minor league baseball team The Winston-Salem Dash won a road game over the Lynchburg Hillcats in Lynchburg, Va., by a 7-4 score on Sunday.

The Dash now head to my hometown of Salem, Va., to face the Salem RedSox for a four-game series starting on Wednesday night. We wish both teams well.

Hmmm......I am beginning to feel like someone residing in Zurich, Switzerland!
